Analytics into the Entirety of the Program

Energy, Utility & Electricity

Project Background

An electricity and natural gas supply company engaged our consulting services to provide a structured Human Resource and Talent Acquisition infrastructure to support large and ongoing project initiatives. The company offers clean, carbon-free energy services and required a formal process for identifying and onboarding talent for a variety of projects with a swift start date.

Services & Solutions

Our team created a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) to streamline all their staffing needs, created analytics and reporting metrics, and provided weekly check-ins throughout all engagements. As the primary service provider, Zempleo managed all vendors and invoicing specific to the program and created a neutral vendor platform to standardize rates and consolidating billing.

Outcome & Results

Within less than one year of the implementation of the program, we were able to identify and onboard over 100 placements that were specific to the company’s needs. Time sensitive projects exceeded deadlines and provided the workforce necessary to complete a multitude of projects ahead of schedule. Our established relationships with our vendor partners, as well as our ability to quickly establish relationships with new/niche vendor partners, allowed us to provide our client with streamlined communication, invoicing, updates and analytics into the entirety of their program.

Nationwide Reach Creates Cost Savings

Medical Supplies, Pharmaceuticals & Health Services

Project Background

A Fortune 100 pharmaceuticals & health services company had an ongoing commitment to engage the services of diverse suppliers to meet their corporate diversity goals. Due to their size, they needed a dependable partner with a national scope to create a scalable solution that would support their staffing needs.

Services & Solutions

We provided two dedicated full time representatives to manage the relationship, 5 team members to engage with Hiring Managers daily and 10 recruiters to support their national requisition load.

Outcome & Results

We were able to successfully fill 50 requisitions per month, 95% at or below bill-rate. Our involvement with this client began with placing Professional candidates but quickly grew into requisitions for IT, Finance and Accounting staffing. As part of this expanded delivery set, we developed a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) solution that included onsite management and call-center processes. Zempleo was awarded Diversity Supplier of the Year, based on our outstanding service and cost savings we provided.

The Real Value of Standardizing Processes

Health Club with over 420 clubs nationwide

Project Background

After thorough analysis of the current nationwide operations, we found that this client endured a decentralized program that lacked consistency, manual processes, non-standardized mark-ups, limited visibility and strategic sourcing capabilities and unmanaged risk exposure.

Services & Solutions

We became the client’s On-site Managed Service Provider and developed a tiered, vendor-neutral program, implemented VMS technology solutions with integrated online timekeeping and approvals systems. This standardized the program and included mark-ups and vendor rationalization and consolidated invoicing.

Outcome & Results

The client received more than 10% cost reductions through bill-rate declines and gained soft cost savings due to automating these processes. We achieved a 100% fill rate for all open positions with an average time to fill of less than 9 days and 100% program compliance from all vendors.

Tackling the Challenge of Increased Diversity Spend

Manufacturer

Project Background

A Fortune 500 manufacturer of heavy equipment needed to meet and increase diversity supplier initiatives, as their current provider was not able to meet their demand. The company was experiencing rapid increases in IT and Engineering requisitions, with most requisitions in challenging and undesirable locations across the United States.

Services & Solutions

We utilized our onshore and offshore recruiting teams to manage their programs volume and demand. By developing a close working partnership and creating an “Elite” program specifically for this client, we provided direct contact with hiring managers, exclusivity on requisitions and a direct pay process.

Outcome & Results

Ultimately we provided the client with their desired diversity spend increase, successfully filled challenging requisitions with hard-to-find skill sets while reducing turn-over rate, reduced the time required to fill open positions and maintained a high submission-to-interview rate.

For Hard-to-Fill Positions, Persistence Pays Off

Mortgage Company

Project Background

One of our clients, a mortgage company headquartered in San Diego with branches across the US, experienced 15%+ growth in 2016 over the previous year. They called on Zempleo for recruiting to fill positions to meet internal and market growth demands.

Services & Solutions

In addition to supporting local recruiting needs, some of the positions were hard-to-fill requirements in remote locations. Many of the searches took longer than average, due to these unique challenges.

Outcome & Results

Our recruiting team’s persistence ultimately led to success. Zempleo became a reliable go-to resource for the client, ultimately filling over 75 contract and direct hire positions.

Onboarding Hundreds of Employees for a Single Project

Electric Services Company

Project Background

An electric services client needed an auxiliary group of support staff employees to complete their annual repainting of gas meters in residential neighborhoods. This statewide initiative required approximately 100 contingent staff to be onboarded by the same day for a project with a duration of 2.5 months.

Services & Solutions

This project was previously handled by the client directly, but coordinating the onboarding proved to be very time consuming for their internal teams. The client looked to Zempleo to support their efforts. The project kicked off with only 25 painters but because of our ability to provide onboarding services for large groups in a timely manner, the project ultimately grew to include 100+ meter painters, and is still in operation. Each year our HR Ops team orientates, screens, onboards and puts all painters to work by the client’s required start date.

Outcome & Results

Due to the success of this project, we were able to successfully negotiate new rates specifically for this group. We have seen this project grow in numbers and length of projects year over year.

Professional Sub-Contracting Means Everybody Wins

Energy Company

Project Background

Our client was making changes to their temporary staffing program and internal contracting processes. As a result, there were several vendors that had individual resources that our client needed but could not implement on a temp basis, due to contracting delays.

Services & Solutions

The MSP and client requested to partner with a vendor to whom they could subcontract their services, corporation-to-corporation. Our existing agreement as their payrolling vendor allowed the process to proceed quicker than the contract was able to move directly with the client. We successfully negotiated our agreement with the vendor, bringing them onboard within the requested timeframe.

Outcome & Results

Because of the success of this sub-contracting partnership and our ability to achieve the contract negotiations quickly, the client and MSP have requested we establish relationships with three additional sub-vendors. Each continues to make successful placements with the client.

Opening a New Plant Requires a Responsive Partner (Part 1)

Medical Device Manufacturer

Project Background

Our client, a medical device manufacturer, made a strategic decision to close their South Carolina plant and move all east coast warehouse operations to Atlanta. This required building and opening a new warehouse and creating a staffing plan for the hire of full time and temporary staff. Initially the warehouse was intended as only a shipping and receiving facility, but the client decided to start a manufacturing line in the same facility. This effort required an entirely new staff.

Services & Solutions

In partnership with the client, we identified the specific positions required, coordinated recruiting efforts and created an onboarding plan for all onsite contingent work. Because the manufacturing line was being shut down at the previous location, the window for the initial staff was very small and required close coordination with the facility managers onsite in Atlanta. The project required us to hire in waves and address changing business needs throughout each step.

Outcome & Results

We successfully met all staffing needs and all hiring waves, ensuring that all contingent staff were onboarded in a timely manner. This was key to ensuring that the transition met the client’s predetermined schedule and was closely watched by the executive team and board of directors. As a result of this successful project, this client sought our support to manage an additional large-scale, time-sensitive staffing project within their Atlanta facility several months later.

A Responsive Partner Can Pick Up the Slack (Part 2)

Medical Device Manufacturer

Project Background

After opening their Atlanta warehouse facility, the client made a strategic decision to outsource its function to another company. A different company would manage all activities and staff for this location, in partnership with the client. In under a year, it became apparent to the client that this partnership did not meet their expectations. They reached out to Zempleo to support the transition.

Services & Solutions

The situation with their previous vendor was sensitive so communication needed to be well coordinated with the onsite staff. We partnered with the client’s talent acquisition team to establish a project scope that outlined the employees that would be retained and determined hiring needs going forward.

Outcome & Results

The transition took place as originally scheduled and without any issues. The client was thrilled that they could depend on our team to ensure all items were handled in time for go live. Due to this transition, our headcount more than doubled in that location.

Fast-Growing Companies Require Rapid Response

Medicine & Health Solutions

Project Background

We provided contract recruiting and payroll services for a medical diagnostics company headquartered in San Diego, with client locations across the US. The client needed our assistance with recruiting and payroll services to meet their internal and market growth demands within 84 different cities across 31 states.

Services & Solutions

Because most of these positions were quick turn-around requirements in remote locations, we were required to adopt an incredibly streamlined process, providing drug, background and health sanction screenings in an accelerated schedule. We had a very limited time for recruitment and onboarding as well as handling communications with over 82 of the client’s hiring managers. Our recruiting team provided daily reporting and constant access for the client. We also provided our resources without the use of any type of internal VMS or tool to facilitate the order/placement process.

Outcome & Results

Our client experienced over 300% growth in Q4 in 2013 to Q4 in 2015. The service and support our client received from our team helped them achieve their recruiting goals that supported a smooth transition during this period of exponential growth.
